True story.
The two forum owners, Harvey Segal and Adrian Ling, first met up (in March 2002) when Adrian answered Harvey's posting at an Internet marketing forum. Harvey had asked if there was an easy way to get at the ClickBank sales statistics. As you may know there is no easy facility at ClickBank to extract meaningful stats from past sales - you would need to log in to each separate sales period.
Adrian had some ideas for a program to achieve this and they worked on a spec for a while until other work took over and the project was shelved.
Fortunately along came Jones, that's James Jones who developed the outstanding program ClickSalez.
ClickSalez allows you to download and manage all your ClickBank sales data, past and present, offline.
You can get reports on any combination of data by time period, product, affiliate or account.
- You can see, for example, details of every sale made of your best selling product (whether as a merchant or affiliate), with grand totals of sales value and quantity.
- You can list your best performing affiliates in order.
- You can hone in on any past transaction by order number or customer name or Email address. You can even create a refund Email should you wish.
- You can accumulate stats over all your accounts.
- You can see on which date you made most sales - either in value or quantity.
Installation takes seconds and the first time you run the program it downloads all your past data from your ClickBank accounts. On subsequent runs it just downloads the new data.

I used to keep all past sales notifications in Email folders in order to retrieve, ultimately inadequate, stats. I've now thrown them all away.
I'm always finding different ways to use the data. For example I promote many ClickBank products and there have been several cases where the affiliate program was changed without my knowledge, such as by switching to another payment processor. This resulted in no sales obviously and meant that all my advertising was wasted. So I decided to track these cases down by checking for fluctuations in sales, for each program over the last few months.
