I remember reading somewhere along the way that Clickbank reguires a static HTML "thank you" page for customers after a purchase ... and that if you use a script to create a dynamic thank you page you should install it AFTER getting approval from Clickbank for your product ... and use a static regular HTML page until the approval is done ... is this still true? Or will Clickbank approve your site now using the dynamic HTML page generated by a script, as long as it is funtional and accurate ....??

Your assumption is almost right, but not quite.

When the ClickBank team reviews your request for a price limit increase, they will click through to your thank-you page and they expect to see it exactly as a customer would see it, including an active download link for your product (if appropriate).

So if, for example, you install a download protection script that redirects unauthorized page requests to a rejection page, this will prevent ClickBank from completing their tests and could delay your account activation.

Other scripts should not be a problem as long as they do not alter the presentation of your thank-you page. You can verify this for yourself, simply by clicking on the corresponding "test" link from within your ClickBank account control panel.

Thank you, Tim .... so if I want to use a script that DOES stop unauthorized access, I should set up a static HTML first until approved, then implement the cgi script access?

Yes, prior to account activation you should either use a static HTML page or temporarily disable the protection script.

But, of course, this is just for the first product. As soon as your account is activated, you can add more products without any special procedures, provided they are priced within your approved price limit.
