I am encountering problem especially when visitor decided to buy a product from my landing page or whatsoever, they will go to the Order Page. They know the product is come under Clickbank so they rather purchase it using their own affiliate links instead of mine. So I will lose my commission under this circumstances. Any help is much appreciated.

    Hello Harvey,

Thanks for the reply. How to know which merchant is using EasyClickMate? So that I can choose the right one who are using this software in order to safeguard my commission.

Besides, how does it actually work to prevent customer to purchase using their own affiliate link? Appreciate for your advice if any.

There's no need to search for merchant who use EasyClickMate.

Just ensure that the sales page does not have

    - a sign up link for affiliates
    - a basic ClickBank payment link

and that you do not use a basic ClickBank affiliate link

    >>Besides, how does it actually work to prevent customer to purchase
    >> using their own

The above suggestions will reduce the chance of a customer
purchasing with their own link but cannot entirely stop it

What is basic ClickBank payment link?

I think many people already have account with Clickbank nowadays. It is not surprising if they purchase with their own link. This could be a disadvantage for Clickbank, maybe the solution for me is to seek for some other affiliate networks which will protect my affiliate commission.

This problem is only prevalent in the internet marketing niche.

And it is not much different with most other affiliate networks.

You don't have to worry too much. If it is really such a major problem, most of us won't be able to pay our bills. Wink

    Hi Yap,

If you promote non Internet marketing related products in Clickbank, I would venture to say that this 'commission theft' will not be an issue.

It's only in the IM niche where this is a problem.

    Best wishes,
    Adrian

Yeah. I agree. This won't be a problem if you are marketing a non-IM product.

The typical/regular internet users don't mind much the URLs.

With the IMs, it's really hard, so, most probably, they are not the real market, not unless, you have something to give away that will make them choose to buy on your link rather than on their own link. Rolling Eyes Laughing

I'm curious how you know that other affiliates are stealing your commissions - most CB affiliates know that they can't use their own ID since they won't get credit. CB requires 5 different credit card #'s or something like that in your account in order to get paid commissions.

The thing that bothers me is that CB keeps the commissions if an affiliate buys using their own link. These funds should be given to the seller - not to CB. Anyway....

You should definitely cloak your links and use a link safety checker to make sure the link is cloakable.

Something I see big name marketers do is use Link Framing to mask the actual domain of the product they are promoting.

The most common method is to add something like "the", "best", etc in front of the product name and register your own domain. Let's say the product your promoting is called moneyblueprint.com. Marketers will register the domain themoneyblueprint.com and then use link framing to promote the product.

In doing this, they add two layers of protection, the link is framed and they use a domain that seems like it's the real product.

TIP - you need to be careful when you frame links, not all sites support it.

Hope this helps - also, if I got details wrong about how CB tries to prevent affiliates from using their own ID I'm sure Harvey or someone else will correct me.

    Hi Harvey,

    Re: Cloaking/Hiding Affiliate Links...

I want to promote clickbank products. I already have my own
    domain. Hostgator is my Host.

When you say create a folder ie, product.php. Am I creating
this on my computer, and then am I to upload that folder
to my HostGator Host, and then what?

How do I get the content in it? Or is this a question that I need
    to ask HOSTGATOR?

    2.1.2 Action by the affiliate
    Don't show the hoplink, viz

    http://AFFILIATE.PUBLISHER.hop.clickbank.net

It can be replaced by any of these

    a redirect link
Create a file called say product.php with this content

    <?php
    header("Location: http://AFFILIATE.PUBLISHER.hop.clickbank.net");
    exit;
    ?>

    and link to product.php

    Hi,

You will need to learn the basics of creating web pages.
    You can use notepad:
    1) Open notepad and place the code into it
    2) Save it as 'product.php'
    3) Upload it to your hosting

You'll find lots of useful information by going through our forum threads.
Tip: Use the 'Search' feature located at the top of the page.

You can also encrypt your pages and/or use a link cloaker. There are many free online link cloakers on the net.

Also, look at clickbank marketplace for the code they use that shows a text message instead of the link being clicked.

    Hope that helps you!

Affiliates work hard to promote a product or service, thinking that they will earn commission for that. But it is a soar fact that part of the money can be easily lost by affiliates, so itís very important to know how to protect affiliate commissions?

One of the easiest way to lose an affiliate commission is to advertise plain affiliate links that have a productís website embedded.
