I'm a Clickbank vendor and I have a product that generates about 10 sales/month. Nothing special about that, but it's consistent. However, I've developed a new and improved version, which will be double the price of the old. Which should I do?

    1) Keep old product as is...make improved version a new product.
    2) Keep old product listing...but change price, images, thank you page, etc.
    3) Delete old product...add new product.

    Thanks for your help!

You could offer the new product as an upsell to the old.

Thanks...I'd be interested in the upsell strategy. but I'm concerned that the low initial price on my old product ($15) is keeping affiliates away. I guess I'd like to start with a more profitable starting point.

If I keep the old listing and simply change the price, description, and thank you page, how will my current affiliates respond to this? I don't really have any way to contact them.

I see - I thought you might be concerned that the new price would deter customers.

Would any existing affiliate presell material work the same for the new product ? If so I would just replace it (option 2)

    Thanks, Harvey.
I took a look at what some of my affiliates are using (images, copy, etc.), and I don't think customers would be at all confused when they reach my hoplink page. No one seems to be listing price in their promotional copy, so that's good. Also, I'm trying to locate as many contact pages as I can find (of my affiliates) so I can tell them about the change. I think they'll be happy to make double the commission that they were receiving.

    Sounds good.
    I'd go with that.

It's a good idea to have an affiliate page with a sign up so that you can keep in contact with them.

I went with option 2 (revise existing product account). However, I'm seeing one possible drawback here. When I look at my Vendor Spotlight, it still shows statistics based on my old product, namely the average commission payout, which is only half of what affiliates will actually make now if they promote my new product. That's not good.

I guess I'm wondering now how long it will take for these stats to reflect my new price point. If the number truly is an "average" it could be some time. I've been selling the old, less expensive product for the last couple years.

Marketplace stats are based on the last 8 weeks of activity.
