Howdy guys. This is a javascript question I think.

As you know, Adwords won't allow pop-ups and that's all cool, but after they are sent to my site and start to navigate around, or if they come from some other domain than google.com, then periodically, I'd like to show a popup.

Does anyone know of any 'smart' javascript routines that can do that? Basically, if the referrer domain = google.com, then don't show the popup, otherwise, show the popup.

I'm not a programmer, as you can surely tell.

You might find something you can use (with some slight modification perhaps) here..

Although is it certain adwords reviewers click through from google.com ?

I heard that DHTL pop ups aren't considered as "pop ups" by Google and they can be used on the landing page, haven't yet tried it out though.

I got in trouble for using a pop in. Google site its still considered a pop up so who knows. Maybe its upto the editor.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'm still working on this and will post the results. I think that I can use the document.referrer variable in Javascript to determine if the visitor came through Google (and thus not display a pop up) vs if they came from anywhere else.

Also, I think Javascript Fly-ins are permissable.

    Google Editors are completely inconsistent.
