    Hi All

Really pleased to have found your forum - I finally feel like I'm in good hands and going to find the help I need!

I've written a book in Microsoft Word which is 99.6 MB (it's not a million pages long but because of the subject matter it contains a lot of images). What I'd like to know is the best program to use to convert it to pdf. Obviously I want the download time for people buying the ebook to be as fast as possible but I also don't want to sacrifice the quality of the images.

Oh - and did I say "as cheap as possible"?!

    I really appreciate your help.

    All the best,
    Hugh Appleton

If you are using Office-2007 package, you can use PDF installer which comes with office. Install this small add-on software. It will help you to convert your Microsoft file into PDF with reducing the quality of content and pictures.

When you press F12 Button {For save as}, you will see the Save as type dropdown menu option, scroll down your list and select PDF. That's it. Now Save your file. That's it.

Isn't it simple. If you are using enterprise solution, it will be there already. Just check.

Thank you 2gbhosting - I'll look into that option. I have already converted it to pdf using 'Nitro' but found some of the images to be extremely grainy and some to be slightly cropped down one edge.

    Many thanks for your help.

i think you may need a word converter to convert word to pdf document without using pdf application. or some pdf application supports converting pdf to word and word to pdf. as far as i know Adobe pdf is the best.

    Hi Hugh,

I have been using the free version of "PDF995" which is FREE to use but will display sponsorpages (unless you register or alternatively: disconnect from the internet).

You can check it out here: http://www.pdf995.com/download.html

I have used it for several years and allows me to do anything with it. I create a document in Word, then load the document(s) into PDF995. I can then first select the order in which I want them to appear (useful when you need to combine more than one page or document).

All in all, I am very pleased with the results of it. Check it out for yourself.
I do NOT receive any commissions from anyone who purchases. I am talking from personal experience here!

    Jean.
