|There was an article in this month's Planet Ocean (an excellent ezine on SEO that you have to pay for) about the future of Froogle, google's new shopping thing at froogle.google.com or available from the main page of google. The Planet Ocean folks are VERY enthusiastic about its potential. I've been playing around with it and think it could take a lot of traffic away from amazon (I will be comparing book prices at froogle from now on!) and eBay.
I'm in the midst of creating a data file to upload to Froogle for our products, which are mostly videos and physical books, with a few ebooks. I just checked and there are lots of ebook listings. One interesting thing is that your product description can be up to about 65,000 characters, and then if someone searches on phrases in your description, it will come up. Since the descriptions you can put on froogle cannot have anything that isn't on your website, I'm going to redo some of my pages.
That article suggested that since it is free now and who knows about later, this is a good time to get into it.
Thought other vendors might like to know about this. Froogle's guidelines are that you have to offer the product directly for sale from your site, so most affiliate setups would not apply.
But so far as I can tell, an affiliate link that went right to the clickbank order page would be appropriate.
