Hello SuperTips readers,
I received a nice compliment in my mail this week.
I was asked for some advice about producing a brandable
ebook and the letter concluded
"Thank you for any help you can offer. I always thought
of you as the brandable ebook granddaddy, so I
appreciate your wisdom."
And so 'granddaddy' began to think about his past
My first effort was back in 1998 when ebooks were
rather new and the ebook compiler I used was a very
primitive affair where you had to return to a menu to
get the next chapter.
It was a small book called the 'SuperTips Book of
Internet Marketing' and I used what was then the fairly
new technique of telling visitors that they could offer
the book at their own website as a free gift.
The book was very popular and received many downloads
However as a beginner I did not think of collecting the
As time went by the format and content of this book
became so out of date that I begin to bury it deeper
and deeper in the bowels of my website to make it
harder to find.
Eventually I replaced it with my ebook '101 SuperTips'.
By this time there was a much better incentive for a
website owner to give away free books - customizing (or
rebranding) them with affiliate links.
This was thanks to the introduction of ebook compilers
(for EXE books) which had a rebranding option.
It was a while before PDF rebranders became available
so all my books were first written in EXE format.
I finally yielded to requests for PDF versions and
spent a busy time a few months ago converting them to
PDF and now offer both options.
And recently I have updated some of my free books to
use a new technique.
Instead of having an affiliate go through the hassle of
downloading a book, running a rebranding program,
uploading the branded book to his website and adding a
book description page he now simply uses an affiliate-
How does this work ?
I explain it in my book Viral Marketing SuperTips.

As you may realize I'm very interested in the use of
rebrandable books and am always looking out for new
ideas for rebranding.
So maybe the title of granddaddy is justified.
But wait !
I may have just met a Great-Granddad.
I came across his simple looking site yesterday.
However the more I studied it I realised it was packed
with some VERY ... VERY ... clever ideas about
So far I've listed nine of them.
See if you can manage that many.
I'll start you off with the first one:
