    THE CLICKBANK GUIDE

    Issue 65: August 18, 2005
    Harvey Segal, Editor

By now I am sure you are aware of the recent changes at
    ClickBank.

First your customers can now pay using Paypal.

Note - you need to have the Paypal option turned on in
your account and also, for some strange reason, if you
have that on then you cannot turn off the payment by check
    option.

The Paypal option should definitely result in more
conversions to sales and on the other side of the coin the
refund rate should be reduced with the new refund policy.

The official guarantee period is now down to six weeks
from 90 days. This is due to the shorter Paypal refund
    period (of 60 days).

I don't think that it's this reduced period which will
affect the refund rate but rather the new wording which
seems to imply that ClickBank will make more of an attempt
to get the customer to contact the vendor first before
    clicking the refund button.

By the way you don't have to mention a guarantee on your
sales page but if you do the rule is that it must not
    conflict with ClickBank's policy.

Of course the other way to reduce refunds is to read my
    book

    Stop Those ClickBank Refunds !
    http://www.clickbankguide.com/rfbook.htm

This book is essentially for vendors as affiliates have
little control over the process. That's why I just devote
one page to what an affiliate can do - and it includes the
    following tip:

If there is a product which you are very keen on promoting
but it suffers from a high refund rate then suggest to the
vendor that he can substantially reduce his refunds if he
reads my book - and be sure to use your affiliate link.

Now if it's not bad enough to have refunds clawing away at
your profits there's another worry if you use pay per
click advertising. It's the big problem of click fraud.

Fortunately there is a tool which can help track and
prevent fraudulent activity and even help you recover your
    money from the search engines.

It also doubles as a very powerful ad tracking program and
should be of particular interest to ClickBank affiliates.
Affiliates cannot usually measure the ROI of their
campaigns as they cannot detect when a sale is made (as
they are unable to access the thank-you page)

However if you can persuade your vendor to add one line of
code to his site (he does not need to purchase the
program) it allows every affiliate to track their sales.

The name of this program is AdWatcher and with the latest
release it provides a stack of features too numerous to
    list here.

In addition you can get the first month free together with
$200 worth of pay per click credits.

    All the information here

I've never understood this. If the vendor wants to offer a longer guarantee & is willing to issue those refunds directly, what's wrong with that?

My interpretation is that they CAN say this
if they make it clear that they (the vendor)
    will handle the refund.

I almost considered just upping my guarantee to 1 year.

So that if CB said no.. I would just pay the person back.

The longer the guarantee the better it entices the person to buy. At least that was my thought.

And anybody who wanted a refund could just get it via PayPal minus the transaction fees (if they take that from their end or mine.. I forgot).
