Hello SuperTips readers,
I've just removed a file on my PC.
It was a file containing my standard template answer to
people who email me asking how to get started in online
I decided to set up the answer on a web page.
But instead of listing hundreds of resources and
confusing the reader I simply showed 3 items.
* Best free book
* Best paid book
* Best way to start
and added a 4th called Ideas.
The page is called "Help for Internet Marketing Newbies"
but on reflection there's useful information for even
I'm still going to need that template email after all,
aren't I ?
How else will I tell people this:
You'll find all the answers at
A merchant I know seems to have vanished.
And his sales page no longer works.
Heck - his affiliate link appears in my books and I've
got no way of notifying the readers as the books are
being distributed (rebranded) by others out of my
You don't think I'd put a hard coded affiliate link in
my book do you ?
I use an ad tracking URL so I can change the destination
However this is still risky.
If you use an online tracking service and they also
vanish like the above merchant you are in deep trouble -
all your links everywhere will stop working.
But there's a solution.
You can replace the links with redirect files at your
site and these can point to your tracking links.
Of course the better method would be to not use an
online service but to install an ad tracking program at
your own site.
That's what I do.
And here's the program I use. So good that I just bought
the resale rights.
Now, if you recall I said I would mention a tip today on
how I had written the last issue.
It concerned a clever idea associated with the web
hosting service which is ranked the top choice by many
top Internet marketers.
But you will notice
- I did not give the name of the company
- I did not give the name of the person masterminding
In fact I did not even use the suggested promotional
material he provided.
Because there's nothing worse then being at the
receiving end of 'duplicate' emails telling you about
such and such's wonderful new venture.
I prefer the subtle approach.
So just to remind you, the information is here
and I'm not going to mention it again till March 20th
when something special happens.
