Hello SuperTips readers,
I'm delighted to say that we've just had a new addition
to the family.
It was a painful weekend of labour but my wife is fine
and I'm really excited about the new arrival.
Unfortunately we've have to make the serious decision to
get rid of our 5 year old.
OK, I know it's harsh and I'm sure some of you will be
But we could no longer put up with the mood swings and
Besides we can do with the extra space.
Ok, I know that you may not agree with me but what else
can you do with a temperamental 5 year old computer ?
A very naughty Windows 98 PC which crashed many times a
Now I have a perfectly behaved Windows XP - with a nice
Transferring the data from the old to the new took most
of the weekend mainly because the CD rewriter on the old
PC refused to work (one of many reasons why it had to
Now I know there are various ways to transfer data
such as a connecting cable, or physically moving over
the hard disk. And I also came across these nifty USB
pen drives - the problem is that I would have needed to
install a driver in my old PC: too risky - installations
on the old PC were always fraught with error - another
reason why it had to go.
So I decided to make use of the service provided by my
off-site date backup center.
You may recall in a recent newsletter that I declared
that using this service for backup was "The BEST thing I
ever did in Internet Marketing". It allows me to sleep
easy every night as my crucial files are automatically
backed up to a safe place. Otherwise I lie awake
fretting that I haven't taken my latest backups to
Yes it's no fun being unable to sleep.
I have a friend who is an insomniac and he's also
dyslexic and an agnostic - so he lies awake all night
wondering if there really is a dog.
Anyway I made sure that all the essential files were
backed up at the center.
Then I simply did a restore to my new PC.
It worked like a dream.
There was one minor problem due to my misreading of an
instruction so I fired off an email to the support
And prepared to wait a day for a response.
A few minutes later a helpful young lady phoned me back
and proceeded to walk me through the process.
So along with a superlative and essential product I can
now add great support.
I urge you to seriously consider using an off-site backup
solution and ensuring that your online business will
never fold in an emergency.
Here is the one I use.
Check out the costs. Very reasonable.
However - ignore them.
We can do better.
There's a special deal for SuperTips readers.
I don't have a date for when this offer might expire.
So best to act quickly because . . .
. . . do you know the date when your PC might expire ?
