|THE CLICKBANK GUIDE
Issue 44 August 8, 2004
Harvey Segal, Editor
If you've been concerned about recent downtime at
ClickBank I have an explanation for you.
It comes from the head man - Steve Rouse, Chief Operating
Officer at ClickBank.
"ClickBank has endured a number of service interruptions
in the past few weeks, which fact has proved
discouraging to all of us and for which we apologize.
Two of the outages related to catastrophic hardware
failures and internal technical issues, which have been
The short-duration intermittent order form availability
events were caused by ISP-level outages at both of our
California data centers, one in Palo Alto and the other
in Freemont. We have been unable to secure acceptable
service level guarantees from these ISP''s; therefore,
we are in the process of moving our remaining processes
to geographically-redundant hosting facilities to ensure
the availability of our services. We have engineered
the move carefully to avoid any further interruption of
our services. This upgrade should be complete by month-
end and will significantly reduce the likelihood of
future service interruptions."
Steve then went on to counter claims of faulty tracking.
"With regard to claims of problems with our tracking
system, these claims are unsupported by facts. We
believe the accuracy of our tracking system is superior
to any other tracking system widely used today. We have
not experienced any technical issues which affect the
proper tracking of commissions. ClickBank does not
“turn off” affiliate tracking. To do so would
jeopardize our sales and alienate both vendors and
affiliates. Affiliate performance for the period
mentioned was strong and steady, with about half of all
ClickBank sales being credited to affiliates:

We are sorry if your sales during this period did not
meet your expectations, however ClickBank’s tracking
system is not the cause."
So what else did Steve reveal to me in my exclusive
and high-powered conversation ?
Well actually we didn't have a conversation.
He simply provided this information at the ClickBank
Success Forum where he is one of the top posters.
ClickBank have now enlisted four of their staff to help
answer questions. So I hope that you also pay a visit
And don't forget to tell your colleagues, so that
they can tell theirs, and so on - which will make
it very viral.
Which nicely leads me on to the next topic.
You may have seen these Google AdSense look alikes which
contain ads for ClickBank products.
I've just signed up with a new system called CBClicks.
I've no idea how it will perform but it's free with a
viral component so I can't really lose and I hope to
start seeing ClickBank sales for products which I don't
Why not give it a try
