Hello to all CBS Forum members,

I was just wondering if companies like Bidvertiser, AdBrite, miva etc. are good in advertising directory as google, yahoo? Means conversion rates for the same words. Is it worth to join them. They seems cheaper. Do you Any experiences?

    Regards.

I have used Miva and found it ok in that it gets traffic. But, if you make high bids to get near the top with a competitive term you will receive hundreds of fraudulent clicks. I have found that you will get a refund if you push them, but you still lose out and your cashflow suffers.

I no longer deal with them or - for the same reason - their associate Findwhat

I tried Miva a few times, and everytime it will be slow for a day or two, then my account runs dry by the 3rd day.

I tracked all the hits, multiple ips, but from the same url. My guess some kind of rotator auto clicking thing. Not one single click on any link on my webpage from hundreds of hits.

    Personally, I'm done with miva.

Adbrite looks interesting. Reasonable rates on may sites. I might try it next month. I'm curious to hear if anyone else uses them.

what about msn and yahoo? i only tried adwords but even my keywords phrases are with 4 words it still cost me lot to be on top and there is not so much clicks... even its 1000's of keywords phrases

MSN is now doing well for me. Very low volume however. About 10% of what I get from google.

Yahoo gets about half the traffic, but converts very well. So it evens out.

    so the conclusion is:

adwords = a lot of traffic , and highest conversion but very high bid's
yahoo = 1/2 of adwords traffic , good conversion rate and possible lowest prices for the same words as added to adwords
msn = low traffic but still cheap , and good conversion rates.

sorry for my english again Wink

    regards

That about sums up my experience. However, your results may differ. I'm selling mostly hard goods and services from commission junction.

I'm actively participating in this forum to learn how to market clickbank products.

Profiting from clickbank products in ppc still eludes me. Harvey's book really opened my eyes on ways to market a digital product other than ppc. So I highly recommend everyone read it, and all of his books. It's a "Must Read".

Here's something to consider for those advertising via Google's AdWords.

When you use AdWords you have the option of having your ads appear only on Search results or on Search results & the content network.

The content network consists of people, like me, who have AdWords ads displayed on their websites via Google's AdSense program.

Some people will make a blanket statement that you should avoid the content network for this reason or that.

    Two points:

    1. On some of my sites, the ads match the content of my pages so well that the advertiser is actually getting better targeting than with search results.

    2. If someone says "don't use the content network" - I advise doing two things:

    A. Don't make a decision based solely on that advice. Test for yourself and see what conversion rate you get with the content network. If you are aiming for a 2% conversion rate, for example, and you get >2% with the content network, it doesn't matter what other people tell you - it makes good busines sense to stay with the content network.

    B. When someone says he/she doesn't use the content network - be happy - that's one less person you have to compete with for eyeballs.

I always test the content network, usually I'll bid about half what I do on the search network.

I've had mixed results, some campaigns do very well with content network, some not.

But I'm glad I tested! Otherwise I'd be losing out on $200/month profit on one campaign alone.
