    SUPERTIPS EZINE

    Issue 152 Aug 10, 2008
    Harvey Segal, Editor

    Hello SuperTips readers,

    ================
    1. Prize winners
    =================

    I am pleased to announce the winner of the $100 prize for
    suggestions on how to improve the Ultimate SuperTip system
    http://www.supertips.com/ultimate.htm

    It goes to
    Liz Tufte http://folio-bookworks.com

    Runner up prizes go to
    Jonathan Rudd http://OneTimePay.biz
    Dan Shell http://www.trackthewii.com
    Susan coils http://secretofmagneticsponsoring.com
    Richard Gee
    Bill Trust
    Eric Leehy

    =======================
    2. Never Sell Ebooks !
    =======================

    That was the intriguing title of a posting at the Warrior
    forum

    It was suggested that the term 'ebook' has now become
    devalued and that 'the public think of an ebook as something
    that Amazon sells for $6.99 and when they see your price tag
    of $50 or so they'll be clicking away before you know it'

    A few alternatives were proposed and other posters added
    their suggestions.

    I've listed the best ones here

    3. Ecovers
    ===========

    Whatever you decide to call your digital item above it's
    going to need something whose name is pretty standard - an
    ecover.

    All the great ecovers at my site http://www.supertips.com
    apart from one (Ad Tracking SuperTips) were produced for me
    by super designer Thomas Breher. Thomas has now created a
    tool which allows us to create our own covers. You can try
    the demo here

    http://www.supertips.com/r/ecover.htm

    I still needed Thomas's help though to create some very
    small images. I use them on the ClickBank order form - it's
    a new feature which ClickBank say helps improve conversion.

    Have a look.

    Go to http://www.clickbankguide.com/cavs-order.htm
    and click as if to purchase any of the packages

    ===============
    4. Mind Movies
    ===============

    If you recall the spooky events I mentioned in the last two
    newsletters (check the archives at the end of this
    newsletter if you want to reread them) I can tell you that
    Mind Movies launched today

    http://www.supertips.com/r/mm1.htm

    Harvey

    Most of the ebooks now teach the old school techniques. People will only waste their money buying such ebooks. But there're still some that remain updated and have cutting-edge strategies, like beating adwords, who loves money, ForexEnterprise, just name a few.

    Changing the name to something other than e-book is ingenious. I missed that post at WF, I guess. I see that a lot when networking offline - mention e-book and you can see their lip curl up and the disdain shows in their eyes. So many feel that it can't be worth anything if it's not actually printed and they can hold it in their hands that you have to overcome that mindset.

    I sure am glad I saw this thread.
    I have gone back to all of my salespages and changed the word "ebook" to one of the choices mentioned here.
    Since I test everything, I will let everyone know how the new terms convert.

    Cheers

    There are lots of ebooks available today and some of them are just a scam and you will just waste your money purchasing it.

    Best Advertising I've seen with results that work very well are wording the term of ebook to "Downloadable PDF Guide" or "manual"

    Yes people will clearly not be fooled that this is still an ebook... but the re-wording of your ebooks to being marketed as "downloadable guides and manuals" is been working for years. This has been the new trend in 08 I believe.

    I'd say it's all about how you position your offer.

    My "ebooks" pay for my mortgage, car payment, groceries, and housekeeper.

    It wouldn't make any difference if I called them guides, manuals, reports, etc.

    Good suggestion!

    But ebooks are nothing but how-to-guides!

    Don't you think the shoppers know this reality?

    Glad I ran across this thread

    I wrote this article shortly after reading it

    How to Make a Multi-Media Book Not Just an Ebook Free by Kirkham

    Pdf is a static document which never thrilled me as a means of conveying information considering the living power of the internet to make a web page come to life. Here's a way of making a multi-media or to use the phrase I coined m-book for free.....

    Interesting, I never thought of it like that before...but it is true that I shy away from buying "ebooks" because I can't be sure I'll get my money's worth...unless I really trust the author. And, I don't like reading ebooks as much anyway, because it has to be organized really well and be simple enough to understand at the computer screen.

    Case Studies Guide and How to Guide I think would appeal to me much better. Thanks for sharing that list!

    It is a very good post and I take on board the point.

    Although I recently had a customer that I had explain that they had bought an ebook not a hard copy product.

    Looking to the future we are going to have to ensure our ebooks can be read on the new digital book readers.

    Interesting points here. I agree that e-book tends to devalue a product in my eyes.

    All the alternative names makes sense, but as for "Blueprint" - what would qualify as a blueprint? It seems to me like that would need to be more customized for each individual, unless the implication is that you make custom blueprints or guides for each client based on what they request? (For example, with some type of counseling service.)
